As a designer and artist, I love to add unique and interesting objects to my space. I also love to combine my passion for repurposing items and giving them a “new life”. A great way to start is by shopping around your house. Is there an item that needs refurbishment, a storage bin you’ve been meaning to sift through, or something that you don’t know what to do with but can’t bring yourself to get rid of?
This autumn, why not take a sustainable approach by repurposing old items into delightful fall decorations? Here are some imaginative ways that I have turned forgotten treasures into new creative wonders:
Earrings → Magnets: I recently bought a magnetic white board for my office and thought it needed some personality. So I rummaged through my supplies and found these lovely costume earrings and transformed them into magnets.
Blue bucket with Mums: These vintage buckets are so fun and add a lot of character. Place a plant or some flowers inside and you’ve instantly got a unique and interesting planter.
Project Board: To keep my work projects organized (and fun to look at), I created a project board out of an old piece of framed art. I loved the frame so I painted it black and added decorative poster paper for the background.
